What's good for the goose?

So today the Justice Department announces that it has begun an investigation into who leaked the fact that the U.S. National Security Agency is conducting surveillance in the U.S. without warrants. President Bush has all but said that revealing the existence of the program assisted (potential) terrorists. Clearly, quick, decisive measures are in order. Yet two years on, we still don't know for sure who leaked the identity of a US CIA agent, potentially compromising other agents and sources around the world.

Is this because the CIA agent who was exposed was linked to criticism of the administration? It seems like it. "National security leaks" are unforgiveable if they support Bush critics, but if the source is a loyal political ally/satrap, well, that's forgivable.

I say, sir, double standard! This is unacceptable. (In character, but unacceptable.)

i think everyone wants an honest and accountable government but unfortunately no one believes that anyone who would a) run for public office or b) work in the media is capable of being honest and accountable.

ironcially like (most flavors of) christianity - you have to believe in christ in order to go to heaven.
